How to Stay Motivated for ExercisePragya Raiwal
Why is it too hard to find time for exercise ? Anyone can have a problem making exercise part of their routine. Due to very busy lifestyle, everyone feels emotionally and physically drained which leads to less motivation for physical activity.
There are so many health benefits that come from being physically active, like reducing your risk for chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease, stroke, etc. Some helpful tips to motivate yourself:
Keep Your Gear Close
Don’t put your exercise stuff like workout clothing, dumbbells and footwear away from you because visual cues are a wake-up call to your brain. We all have compromised our priorities to work, family chores and society but sometimes these things are a reminder to keep exercise at the forefront. Putting fitness poster also helps as visual cues or a reminder to exercise.
Become a Morning Person
Exercising in the morning can help you in keeping yourself energetic throughout the day; the least you delay exercising to evenings the better. If you wait until later in the day, it’s most likely that things will pop up and get in the way of your work out.
Get a Friend with Same Goal
Find a friend who likes the same things you do; like running or spinning. By this you won’t want to let the other person down by giving up on exercise and also chatting with a friend makes working out more enjoyable.
Set Small Targets
Small goals are easy to achieve and provide you with motivation to set other goals. You can involve lots of exercise with your daily chores. E.g: You can set a goal of doing 10 squats each day prior to getting into the kitchen for preparing lunch or dinner.
Make it Interesting and Add Variety
If you want to stay motivated for longer time choose workout which is interesting to you like some people join hip-hop classes, Zumba classes, Crush fitness and more for workout involving variety in your exercise regime. Different workout activities are also beneficial as they help you focus on different body parts as per different people’s fitness goals.
